Now back for its 5th year,  Beaver Fever is a folk and grassroots music festival that aims to provide a venue for the folklore and culture of Southwestern Alberta — from cattle to backcountry to wildlife — to be told, sung and heard.

These stories are uniquely attractive by themselves, and even more so in the context of the foothills next to the Castle River in late June. We invite you to come celebrate the unique beauty of Beaver Mines and surrounding area.

We're excited to host 11 local musical acts. And as always, the food and beverage will be available on-site, with that famous pancake breakfast served up good and ready on Saturday morning — and we'll dance.

FAQs

FAQs

- Where exactly is the festival located? - We are at the Cowley Lions Castle River Campground, located off Hwy 507, about 13km south of Highway 3 (near Pincher Creek/Beaver Mines). Look for the "Castle River Rodeo" signs!

- When can I arrive? - Gates open Friday, June 26, at noon. Music kicks off Friday evening and runs through Saturday night, June 27.

- Is there cell service or Wi-Fi? - Cell service is fine but no wi-fi.

- Can I bring my RV, or is it just tents? - Both are welcome! We have space for RVs and tents, but remember that sites are unserviced (no power/water hookups), so come prepared for "dry" camping.

- Are fires allowed at my campsite? - Propane fires only.

- What should I pack? - The Rockies are unpredictable! Bring layers (it gets cold at night), a rain poncho, sturdy footwear, sunblock, bug spray, and a reusable water bottle.

- Can I bring my dog? - Yes, but they must be on leash if they're not friendly.

- Is Beaver Fever family-friendly? - Absolutely. We pride ourselves on being a multi-generational event. Children under 15 get in for free!

- What is the "Leave No Trace" policy? - We love the Cowley LionsCastle River Campgrounds, please pack out everything you pack in. Use the provided recycling and waste bins, and help us keep the rodeo grounds pristine for the local community.

- Will there be food vendors on-site? - There will be a food and beverage on-site.

- Can I bring my own alcohol? - Personal alcohol is permitted at your campsite, but please support our local vendors at the licensed festival site. No glass is allowed in the concert area.

- What happens if it rains? - The show goes on! Beaver Fever is a rain-or-shine event as it's covered! But in the case of the more extreme weather, we will pause and resume when safe.

- Can I buy tickets at the gate? - We highly recommend buying in advance but yes you can also buy at the door.
